Membership MoU
PARTIES
- This Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”) is entered into on this day (the day when partnership registration is submitted on the website) between #FixPolitics Initiative and the Nigerian Diaspora Community (individuals and organisations as the case may be) for partnership on the #FixPolitics Diaspora Initiative.
By signing up and becoming a member – (an individual or institutional member), you agree to and accept the following commitments:
- Purpose and Objectives-
- To unify and strengthen the Nigerian diaspora voices and ensure they are heard on issues related to good governance and development in Nigeria.
- To push for constitutional provision of diaspora voting in Nigeria.
- To be an advocacy/think tank promoting political, constitutional, electoral and economic reforms in Nigeria.
- Provide support mechanisms in terms of networks and resources for interested diaspora Nigerians who have the character, competence and capacity to vie for and assume political positions in Nigeria.
- Fostering collaboration and empowerment among members of the diaspora Nigerian community.
- Code of Conduct-
- Members agree to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes respectful and inclusive communication within the community. Discriminatory or offensive behaviour is strictly prohibited.
- Political, religious and ethnic partisanship within the FDI community is totally prohibited.
- Members will work collaboratively to co-create ideas, initiatives and programs that accentuate the attainment of the purpose and objectives of the #FixPolitics Diaspora Initiative.
- Membership-
- All Nigerians and Nigerian organisations operating in the Diaspora are eligible to register as members of FDI so long as they meet the following criteria:
- They have no criminal record at home and abroad;
- They subscribe to the non-partisan disposition of FDI in politics, religion, ethnicity;
- They are committed to the ideals and values of FDI;
- They are committed to the structural reform of the Nigerian political and regulatory system.
- Members can join and exit #FixPolitics Diaspora Initiative at any time and without any encumbrance.
- Notwithstanding the above, #FixPolitics shall reserve the discretion to terminate the membership of any person/organisation for reasons including but not limited to violation of the Code of Conduct or activities contrary to the purposes and objectives of this Initiative.
- Dispute Resolution-
- Members agree to resolve any disputes or issues arising from their participation in and membership of #FixPolitics Diaspora Initiative through amicable and constructive means as may be determined by the #FixPolitics Secretariat.
- Governing Law-
- This MoU is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Nigeria.
- Confidentiality-
- Members agree to keep confidential and shall not disclose any sensitive information shared consciously or inadvertently by any member in any of #FixPolitics platforms.
- Entire Agreement-
- Parties agree that the MoU constitutes the whole and final agreement between the parties but may be amended at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, the revision of its terms.
- Execution-
- The member executes this agreement upon full apprehension of its terms by virtue of signing up for partnership.
