SUCCESSFUL PETITION TO INCLUDE ELECTRONIC VOTING IN THE ELECTORAL ACT
The second petition demand that the National Assembly (NASS) amend the Electoral Act to allow for the electronic transmission of votes cast during elections.
#FixPolitics successfully mobilized 100 organizations from across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria to endorse this petition. This along with the efforts of other CSOs compelled the NASS to restore the provision allowing for electronic transmission of election results in the Electoral Bill.
The fruition of this petition was reflected in the full deployment of information technology in the voting process of the 2023 general elections. Example is the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) which is a fingerprint/facial recognition technology for verifying the identity of voters and the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal where results are electronically transmitted and open to public view.

PETITION TO INCLUDE REFERENDUM IN THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION
In October 2021, #FixPolitics uploaded two petitions to the Change.Org site. The first petition demand that the NASS carry out an amendment of the 1999 Constitution to include referendum.
This petition is an urgent demand that the Nigerian National Assembly initiates the first step towards enfranchising the Nigerian people by carrying out a single amendment of the 1999 Constitution to include referendum.
This effort is still ongoing.
